Paul Gaynor, former chief of Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s public interest division, who was an influential force on many health care issues, including property tax exemptions for nonprofit hospitals, has opened his own law firm. Mr. Gaynor, 50, and Jon Rosenblatt, 41, his former colleague in the attorney general’s office whose tasks included labor matters, opened G&R Public Law & Strategies on Oct. 1, according to a statement. The firm will specialize in issues related to state and local government including investigations and legislation, in areas such as health care and labor, the statement said.
